1337 Ventures would like to wish each and everyone of you a happy holiday, and a happy new year! First of all, thank you to everyone for participating in 1337 Ventures' journey throughout 2018! If you've been following us, you'd know that 2018 has been a crazy fantastic year! We invested in 10 startups in one batch, tasked to transform 40,000 CIMB employees, to even releasing our very first report on the fintech scene in Malaysia! Without further ado, here's a recap of our 2018!

We started the year off with an accelerator programme with Khazanah, where we received over 1000 applications all over Malaysia, accelerated over 90 startups, and ultimately invested in 10 startups.

We wrote a report on Malaysia's Fintech Scene which garnered a lot of views and media quotes, and accelerated 25 startups through our Alpha Startups: Fintech Edition in collaboration with MDEC. We also worked with a Canadian firm to further invest in our top finalists. The invested teams has since partnered with many players in the scenes, and garnered thousands of users within just 3 months! Something huge we've been up to this year is helping corporate transform and innovate. 1337 Ventures is transforming one of Malaysia's largest and most well-known conglomerate, Naza. Through this engagement, 1337 Ventures will assist Naza in launching 4 new business units to innovate and disrupt the auto-mobility space in Malaysia. Stay tuned!
1337 Ventures is also one of the partners tasked with equipping over 36,000 CIMB employees across all level and categories with innovative methodologies such as design thinking, and fintech awareness. Concurrently, 1337 Ventures will assist SMEs in their transformation journey, to transform CIMB customers as CIMB transforms.
