Compliance Officer

Job opening for Compliance Officer to lead regulatory governance, ensure ECF platform compliance, and uphold transparency.

Responsibilities

The Compliance Officer is a full-time position at Leet Capital. You will ensure our Equity Crowdfunding (ECF) platform “Leet Capital” complies with all regulatory requirements, maintaining the highest levels of governance and transparency. You will work closely with regulatory bodies like the Securities Commission of Malaysia, oversee due diligence processes, and design frameworks to mitigate compliance risks. This role requires a strong understanding of regulatory frameworks, operational integrity, and the ability to collaborate across teams.

Your responsibilities are as follows:

  • Ensure compliance with all relevant regulatory requirements, including those of the Securities Commission Malaysia and other governing bodies.
  • Conduct due diligence checks on investors, issuers, and startups to ensure all participants meet regulatory and operational standards.
  • Collaborate with the Legal, Investment, and Platform teams to ensure all ECF campaigns adhere to guidelines.
  • Develop and maintain compliance frameworks, including policies, procedures, and monitoring systems for the ECF platform.
  • Oversee the preparation and submission of regulatory reports, audits, and disclosures.
  • Work closely with the Product and Technology teams to identify and mitigate compliance risks in the platform’s operations.
  • Lead investigations into any potential breaches or complaints and report findings to relevant stakeholders and authorities.
  • Provide training and support to the internal team and issuers on compliance-related matters.
  • Liaise with external legal advisors and regulators for ongoing guidance and updates on compliance standards.
  • Assist in the preparation of offer documents and ensure the integrity of all public-facing communications.

Requirements

The ideal candidate experience & skills needed:

  • At least 3 years of experience in compliance, legal, or regulatory roles, preferably in the financial or equity crowdfunding sector.
  • Familiarity with the Malaysian ECF ecosystem, regulatory frameworks, and governance structures.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
  • Experience with drafting and reviewing policies, reports, and legal documents.
  • Fluency in English, both written and spoken (proficiency in additional languages is a plus).
  • Technological proficiency, especially in compliance management tools or platforms.
