Programme Timeline

MYStartup VentureX runs year round on a rolling basis and consists of four stages, with applications, discovery calls, and matchmaking conducted continuously as suitable matches arise.

STAGE 1: REGISTER INTEREST

Apply to Join MYStartup VentureX, technology matching and market access programme connecting high-growth international scale-ups with Malaysian corporate demand drivers to facilitate technology commercialisation, company establishment, and talent recruitment in Malaysia.

This allows us to understand your company, technology focus, and collaboration interests at a high level before we proceed with Discovery Call.

STAGE 2: DISCOVERY AND QUALIFICATION

In this stage, we aim to understand your needs and objectives.

After registration, selected participants will receive an email requesting additional information, including company documentation and more details about your company in a form.

Participants will then book a one hour virtual Discovery Call via our booking link. This session helps us understand your business, objectives, collaboration goals, and readiness to participate in MYStartup Venture X, ensuring we identify the most relevant matching opportunities for you.

STAGE 3: MATCHMAKING AND CORPORATE MEETINGS

Connecting Innovators with the Right Partners

We will facilitate the matchmaking sessions between international innovators and Malaysian corporates.
We structure these meetings as curated discussions or office hours, allowing both parties to explore potential collaboration opportunities. The call will be conducted virtually. 

While 1337 Ventures facilitates the process, all technical and commercial discussions are led directly by the participating companies.

STAGE 4: COLLABORATION KICK OFF

This stage marks the start of a formal collaboration journey.
Companies may proceed by signing a Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA) and exploring next steps such as pilot projects, proof of concept (POC), or further commercial discussions.

While we does not manage POC execution or implementation, we support the initial engagement and track post-programme progress to monitor collaboration outcomes.

Our focus is to help international innovators expand into Malaysia while creating opportunities for knowledge transfer and local talent development.

We are looking for innovative global companies that are in the high-growth stage and ready to expand in Malaysia and ASEAN. If you fit most of the criteria below, apply!

  • Sector Focus: Priority areas include Artificial Intelligence (AI) & Semiconductors, Agritech & Food Security, Health & Life Sciences, Deep Tech, and Sustainable Technology (Green Tech), across both vertical and horizontal solutions. Industry agnostic companies are also welcome.
  • Revenue: Annual revenue between USD 1 million to USD 20 million, indicating market traction and scalability
  • Market Position: Demonstrated competitive advantage in technology or intellectual property

VentureX is offering international companies to gain market access by connecting with potential partners curated just for you! Participating companies are also eligible to uncover potential avenues for investment and funding support, subject to:

  • incorporation of a private limited company in Malaysia; or a project team setup; or a joint venture company; or a project team outsourcing to Malaysian entities/individuals; and
  • the Malaysian private limited company or the project team is hiring and maintaining a workforce of more than 3 local talents with an average monthly salary of RM4,000.

As a disclaimer to our programme, we DO NOT guarantee in providing specific connections that you want and DO NOT guarantee successful partnerships, we will be assisting you at best effort basis.

No. All travel, accommodation, and related expenses are to be borne by participants.

The programme covers curated matchmaking, facilitation, and programme content only. Any costs related to business registration, visas, employment passes, applications, talent hiring, commissions, and fees are to be borne by participants unless stated otherwise.

  • Provide international companies with assistance in technology matching, company incorporation, local talent acquisition, and local market access;
  • Provide business matching opportunities for innovative international companies with local innovators for technology knowledge transfer and creating high-skilled jobs;
  • Elevating success stories and impact of VentureX interventions on partnerships between local and international companies; and
  • Provide a platform to help commercialise local innovation by co-developing businesses and/or licensing intellectual property.

We will assist you in your innovation’s business set-up, talent recruitment and vertical-specific market access via our network of partners including government agencies, corporates and universities. At best effort, we will connect you to our available connections, however, our programme DO NOT guarantee any specific connections or successful partnerships.

Innovators are required to commit to the programme on a meeting schedule basis for the entire duration during the technology matching and market access programme. Business meetings will be conducted digitally or physically and innovators will have the rest of the time free to work on their business as needed.

The programme provides guidance and connections for company registration, business setup, and talent hiring in Malaysia. However, all related costs, including business registration, visas, employment passes, applications, hiring processes, commissions, and fees, are to be borne by the innovator unless stated otherwise.

VentureX does not execute or represent you in these processes. You are responsible for direct communication, coordination, and providing required information and documentation to relevant parties. The programme focuses on enabling you to build networks, grow your innovation, and achieve key milestones. Innovators are expected to actively maximise opportunities to secure contracts, revenue, and funding in Malaysia, and to report outcomes to the MRANTI GIX team within 6 to 12 months after the programme ends.

Innovators are required to commit to the programme on a meeting schedule basis for the entire duration during the technology matching and market access programme. Business meetings will be conducted digitally or physically and innovators will have the rest of the time free to work on their business as needed.

The programme operates in phases over approximately six months per cohort, with two cohorts each year.

For Cohort 1, the key phases are Recruitment (February to April), Matchmaking (May to June), and Post Programme Monitoring (July). 

MYStartup VentureX runs year round on a rolling basis. While there are two structured cohorts, applications, discovery calls, and matchmaking are conducted continuously as suitable opportunities arise. Early applications increase the likelihood of being matched with relevant collaboration partners.

MYStartup VentureX will reserve the right to take equity if any investment/funding is provided by Cradle and MRANTI. Any connections and relationships acquired during the programme solely belong to the innovators. MYStartup VentureX does not interfere in any decision making in any future business dealings.

To gain full market confidence and qualify for potential incentives, you are advised to incorporate a private limited company in Malaysia. However, Joint Ventures (JVs), project team setups, or outsourcing arrangements to Malaysian entities are also accepted, provided you facilitate the hiring of 3–5 local talents (average salary RM4,000) within 12 months.

No. MYStartup VentureX is a market access programme, not a funding grant. We do not offer cash incentives. However, we may connect you with potential investment avenues.

We do not provide direct PR support services. However, success stories and high-impact partnerships may be highlighted in regional press releases through our media partners.

Our focus is to help the innovator expand its market to Malaysia, working with our local innovators. Our key measure of success is to increase the number of foreign innovators expanding to the Malaysian market by increasing the opportunities for knowledge transfer, and job creation opportunities for local talents.

The agenda is not available publicly but you will receive it once selected.

We understand that operation is of utmost importance for expanding stage innovators/companies, therefore, we allow some flexibility in sending a representative to the programme’s meetings that you as the primary applicant are not able to attend. However, the communication between your team needs to be consistent and the representative should be someone who is a decision-maker.
