The healthcare industry in Malaysia is undergoing a significant transformation, fueled by the demand for innovative solutions that enhance patient care. In this evolving landscape, MyScripts stands out as an innovative healthtech startup with a vision to empower local pharmacists to deliver personalized patient care services by simplifying pharmacy workflow. Recognizing MyScripts’ potential,1337 Ventures, an early-stage venture capital firm in Malaysia, is excited to announce its investment in the startup through the 1337 Capital 1.
1337 Capital Fund 1 is the culmination of over a decade of learning through accelerator programmes, corporate partnerships, and hands-on mentoring, dedicated to investing in pre-seed startups. MyScripts is an addition to 1337 Ventures’ growing portfolio of healthtech startups, reinforcing the firm’s commitment to enhancing Malaysia’s healthcare landscape.
“At 1337 Ventures, we understand firsthand the challenges early-stage founders face when building solutions in critical sectors like healthcare,” said Bikesh Lakhmichand, CEO and Founding Partner of 1337 Ventures.
“MyScripts is tackling a crucial issue in pharmacy management, and their deep understanding of the problem sets them apart. As fellow founders, we recognize the value in supporting their journey to streamline pharmacy operations and improve patient care through innovative technology.”
Notably, MyScripts is a graduate of the Alpha Startups™ My Fintech Week 2022 programme, where it refined its business model and gained invaluable insights from industry experts. As it approaches commercialization, the startup is already receiving positive feedback from pharmacists nationwide, validating the urgent need for change in the sector.
After returning from the U.S. with advanced training in Medication Safety and Clinical Research, the founder of MyScripts, Dr. Kevin Ong and Dr. Sharon Lee noticed that Malaysian pharmacists face an overwhelming burden of non-clinical duties that prevent them from delivering the high-quality patient care they were trained to provide.
This inspired the husband and wife duo to launch MyScripts in 2023 in Kuching, Sarawak.
“MyScripts is dedicated to empowering pharmacists by providing the tools they need to digitize and optimize their operations,” said Dr. Ong. “By streamlining workflows and offering actionable insights, we aim to elevate the standard of care and allow pharmacists to focus on what truly matters—patient health.”
1337 Ventures continues to seek innovative ideas to fund via the 1337 Capital 1.
